Yaori
- Appearance: Yaori has light skin and black hair that reaches about mid back. It is slicked back so that he has no bangs and the ends are cut into a zigzag pattern. He, like Yami, has ocean blue eyes. The Princess managed to catch him cleaning and organizing his back room once while he had his hair tied into a ponytail and couldn't help but remark how great he looked with it up! Strangely enough, he has not worn it like that since! Perhaps he is waiting for a special occasion…?
- Fashion: Like many of the others Yaori tends to wear mostly black clothing, usually long sleeved sweaters and occasionally turtlenecks (maybe he keeps his room cold for all of the computers?) He also has the same formal wear as the others that resembles attractive military-esque uniforms.
- Abilities: Among the Princess' guardians Yaori has the best balance between his magic and weaponry skills and is very well versed in both; so much so that Yaari nags him about somehow keeping some of his royal powers, which is, of course, impossible. Yaori's best skill in battle however is his mind; he is best with strategy. Yaori also does not join in to spare with the others very often, yet he seems to keep gaining skills! Perhaps he practices on his own? But where???
- Home &Family: Both Yaori's original home life and family are completely unknown to the Princess, the other guardians and even the castle staff for quite some time. The only ones who truly know are the Queen and King who both seem rather uninterested in sharing his history. The only thing that is known and could be a clue is that he is incredibly smart, talented in things like music (he once played the violin for the Princess expertly), has superior fighting abilities, and has extremely good leadership skills and social grace. Later on it is finally revealed (though only to the Princess and other guardians) that Yaori was once set to become the next king of his country, but he actually hated royal life! (Perhaps this is where his understanding of the Princess comes from…) Once given the choice to become a Guardian he gladly accepted and gave up both his royal powers and rights to the throne, leaving it instead for his many siblings to fight over. (Yaori it seems was chosen to become king even though he had elder brothers and sisters! Quite impressive…)
- Castle Life: Yaori has the job of heading up castle security. He works, and can be found, mainly in the Comm. Room where he keeps watch of security cameras and other castle security systems such as retina scanner reads, locks, power sensors, and various other things. Yaori created almost all the safety and security measures at the castle himself from door locks to the equipment in the Safe Room to the castle's own computer network to the encrypted cell phones the guardians use, he even created his own computer - from scratch. His abilities at creating electronics, both hardware systems and software, are doubled with his almost unsurpassed ability to hack other systems security networks. Yaori is also unbelievably good at gathering information, regardless of where the information is or what it is about, at almost lightening speed. If it's not available via a network he sends out his own personal assistants (aka "minions") to find out for him. No one else at the castle has yet figured out his amazing techniques for gathering such unattainable information, so most just refer to such things as "Yaori's secret network." Other than his job in the Comm. Room Yaori can also be found in the secured room behind it, which has several large, impenetrable vault-like doors with insanely secure locking systems before you can even enter. Inside is a large room with a big computer screen (only outsized by the one in the Comm. Room itself), a couch and coffee table, a small bed in the back, and several shelves of books and boxes of various mechanical things. It is here that Yaori spends most of his time creating new systems or just relaxing. He even sleeps here even though he has a large bedroom of his own on the same level of the castle as the Princess'. This is also the place the Princess comes to when she needs to talk to him about things that might be bothering her, and it is to her, and only her, that Yaori grants full access to this room without having to pass by the locks. Even at 3, 4 or 5 in the morning Yaori can probably be found here instead of in his actual bedroom, which he rarely, if ever, visits. He is also known to pull several all-nighters working on various things that have caught his attention, such as building the Princess her own personal laptop!
- Bio: Yaori has a sort of older-brother type of personality, he constantly makes sure everything is safe at the castle and takes care of things like giving orders, if need be, to the other guardians. If there were to be a group leader, he would be it. He also tends to be a sane source of wisdom in most cases as he tends to look at issues with both brains and heart and even a bit of humor. It is because of this that when the Princess is experiencing a tough time dealing with things, especially considering touchy subjects or ones she feels she cannot discuss out of embarrassment, fear, or other reasons, with Yami that she seeks help from Yaori, well that and if she has any sort of technical problem. Because Yaori realized he could help the Princess in such an intimate way he began to take an interest in psychology and seems most gifted with his non-credential counseling. As far as his personal feeling towards the Princess, most of it is still unknown. At a certain point Yami was jealous of Yaori's attentions towards her, but upon realizing this he tells Yami that he would never try anything of the sort with the Princess. Perhaps he just feels like a father or older brother towards her, or at least after getting over his attractiveness this is the way the Princess herself admits to feeling about him. Some of the others have speculated that if left on her own the Princess would most likely wind up with Yaori if Yami was not around, it isn't quite certain if Yaori would take on such relationship with her or not, but at times he does seem to be awfully close with her. As far as his interactions with the others he might also come off as being like a older brother, albeit one who doesn't mind teasing his siblings and making the occasional sarcastic comment about them, he is actually quite good at jibing them almost to the point of breaking out a fight, but it is normally all in good fun. If anyone were to ever listen closely to his comments they would probably realize that he understands his companions and their actions quite well. Among the guardians Yaori seems to best coexist with Yuuki and the two seem to enjoy each others company immensely.
